Chuck Setterland specializes in the non-structural aspects of building code enforcement. A experienced plans examiner certified by the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), Chuck provides expert plan review services in conformity with the California Building Code (CBC), California Mechanical Code (CMC), California Plumbing Code (CPC), and National Electrical Code (NEC).
Chuck was formerly co-owner and project manager of the Real Estate Development Division of Beckett and Associates, with oversight responsibility for all construction projects. With Beckett, Chuck developed his expertise in coordinating building improvement plan applications between architects and city and their respective planning and building departments.
Immediately prior to joining the Setterland and Associates team, Chuck was a successful real estate professional in San Diego. During his years in real estate, Chuck developed a solid reputation for bringing clients, landowners, and inspectors together to review and resolve building code issues in a collaborative way.
Chuck holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of La Verne and a California State Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach. He earned a Computer Science Certificate from National University and a Business Management Certificate from the University of California, San Diego. Chuck is an active member of ICBO and California Building Officials (CALBO) and continues his education through regular participation in ICBO and CALBO seminars.
